Incorrect Colour Balance

Sometimes the camera incorrectly judges the colour of light which pervades a given environment.  This result in an incorrect colour balance across the photograph.  The problem can also occur when the camera settings do not correspond with the lighting conditions.

The colour balance in this photo is far to cool.  A blue cast is over the whole photo and particlualry noticable in white areas and skin tones which look un-natural.

The colour balance in the photo below is too warm.  There is an orange cast over the photo again more noticable in white areas.

Avec Photo can correct these problems as part of its digital darkroom service.  The photo below has had its colour balance set correctly.  Skin tones look natural.
